Japanese cuisine is famous for Umami taste and its sauces are seldom very strong nor irritate, therefore a German wine especially a dry and mature Pinot Gris, Riesling, Rose or Sparkling wine would match very well with Japanese cuisine such as Sashimi, Sashimi rice, teppanyaki dishes. While a german Lemberger would go well with eel rice.
